  Over reaction. I get all sorts of junk mail and phone calls. Seldom answer phone for unknown numbers. They know my name, wife, children, cat, dog, cars, health problems, age, politics, vacations. It is all public records and sold information.

  As for obscure return names and addresses that is supposedly to protect sisters from perverts. The rest of us do it because we already know the reaction and are ducking responsibility.

  it goes to show that no matter how hard the governing body tries to instill fear of apostates, it's just not working on the young crowd of jws.. it's a new generations of born in jws--------and they don't buy this shit anymore.

  i was at a sunday meeting an the speak was going on and on how the org does good for people in public.

  example is how at new york the brothers handed out bottles of water.

  i know firsthand that they didn't but locked their doors.

  They may be gifts. I note that they were pushing apple, seem to have a cushy relationship with IBM. We don't know about the old days with paper and ink companies; nor MAN.

  the pinkie rings seem to be GB only, like a special club for " made men".

  Since they moved the ring and seem to conceal the watch I think they are sensitive to comments here. 😃 hi guys

  What Do You Think About Home Schooling?

  i knew a few witnesses who were very proud of the fact that their kids were homeschooled.

  years ago, i would raise my eyebrows wondering why these families couldn’t simply integrate their kids with other “worldly” kids.

  at this point in time, with so many theories being pushed on kids and their parents, i can see why parents, if they are qualified, could instruct their kids themselves.

  PS. I advocate teaching ABOUT things. Sex education, abstinence not how to. Gun safety. and the biggies for JWs: flag salute and the pledge. Everyone should be able to recite and explain the origin. Then make up their mind on participation.

  I knew of a 12 year old who could not read a scripture at the door. Home schooled. Others excelled and could do the work in 2 or 3 hours.

  My state has standards and testing and followup and actual school districts set up; complete with online discussions and field trips where everyone met. But some kids are just ditching.

  i know this recent video has been talked about already but i just watched it and here are a few things that got me annoyed as usual:.

  splane says that if a bible student says he saw some negative information from apostates and asks us to explain it, we shouldn't look at it or address anything specifically, but instead we should tell them to go to meetings and hear what we have to say about ourselves and also tell them to befriend people at the hall.

  for any person with integrity and/or intelligence, this is not a satisfactory answer.

  Or in my case I refuse to eat my broccoli. No idea how it tastes.

  i remember the watchtower and awake magazines used to have tons of articles on every subject you could think off.. history, medical, science, masturbation, dating, homosexuality, etc.. this was before the internet.

  get ready for this unrealistic, stupid, dull and boring, made up fiction that is presented at this assembly.. some years ago ( tells a story but doesn't know exact date ), a brother ( doesn't give his name ) in mexico ( doesn't name the town) from the rurals, dressed in a very simple garb ( to show he was not showy ) knocked at the door of a palatial mansion.

  ( a very rich ''worldly'' person must live here ).

  There are a lot of urban legends and folk tales that circulate. I heard stories from a Presbyterian workmate that then were related from the stage at assemblies. The same stories were also Baptist, catholic and whatever.

  Adoption stories, the men behind the woman, blind obedience, poor teaching the rich, lost billfolds, $20 blowing by in the wind saving a pioneer.

  Move to different genre and bibles stop bullets, fuses fail. Actually it was a deck of cards and a bullet that had already gone through 6 other soldiers.
